CSCP Quarterly Update (January–March 2025)
The CSCP has made strong progress in the last quarter of 2025, delivering key improvements to systems and support for children and young people across the borough.
Key Achievements This Quarter
86% of Business Plan actions completed (up from 71% last quarter), demonstrating strong partnership momentum.
New Level 2 safeguarding e-learning launched, tailored to Croydon’s safeguarding context.
Over 1,400 professionals trained in safeguarding this year, strengthening multi-agency confidence and skills.
Amplified youth voices, including contributions to the Care Leavers App and new youth-led resources in development.
Enhanced multi-agency collaboration, particularly in early help, Family Hubs, and MASH operations.
Strengthening Safeguarding Practice
This quarter saw:
Improved audit processes and better use of data to identify and respond to risks.
Stronger accountability across agencies, ensuring effective safeguarding responses.
Challenges & Next Steps
While progress is positive, challenges remain, including:
Partner attendance at training
Inconsistent data submission
Capacity pressures in MASH and key services
The CSCP is actively addressing these issues, but continued partnership focus is essential.
Looking Ahead
The CSCP is entering a new two-year planning cycle, building on this quarter’s progress. With greater youth engagement, stronger multi-agency commitment, and targeted training, we remain focused on improving outcomes for children and young people.
CSCP Training Update
To improve attendance and sustainability:
A booking fee will apply for pre-booked training.
Free safeguarding training remains available for the Local Authority and key partners.
Businesses providing childcare will now be charged for training, with specialist courses available at a modest fee.
