Strengthening Sustainability and Access

The CSCP is committed to delivering high-quality, multi-agency safeguarding training that supports professionals to protect children and young people effectively. To ensure the continued sustainability and development of our learning offer, we are introducing a fee structure for selected safeguarding training courses from 1st July 2025.

This decision follows a comprehensive review of attendance data, course demand, and feedback from partners. The aim is to strengthen accountability, reduce non-attendance, and enable reinvestment into course development, digital learning, and sector-led facilitation.

What’s Changing?

A nominal fee will now apply to certain training sessions, particularly those with high demand, external facilitation, or certification. This model aligns with regional best practice and reflects the value and investment in our learning programme. Fee-based courses will be clearly marked on our Learning Management System (LMS), with details of cost and cancellation terms outlined at the point of booking.

Why Now?

This change supports a fair and future-focused approach. It enables CSCP to reinvest in innovative training, expand access to resources, and secure skilled facilitators to lead specialist sessions. It also encourages commitment to attendance, helping us manage limited places more effectively and reduce wasted capacity.

What Remains Free?

Many core safeguarding courses will continue to be offered at no charge to ensure accessibility remains central to our offer. We remain committed to inclusive learning that supports frontline practitioners across all sectors.
