Terms & Conditions

Introduction

  1. CSCP is committed to delivering high-quality, targeted multi-agency training to professionals safeguarding children and young people in Croydon.

  2. Our programme is led by subject matter experts and designed to:

    • Strengthen professional confidence

    • Enhance multi-agency working

    • Improve safeguarding practices

  3. These Terms & Conditions outline delegate expectations, including our Charging and Cancellation Policy.

  4. CSCP reserves the right to periodically review these terms.

1. Bookings

1.1 By booking, delegates confirm they:

  • Have manager/organisation approval to attend

  • Accept the Charging and Cancellation Policy

  • Meet the target audience criteria (see training levels)

 

1.2 Account requirements:

  • Each delegate must use a unique work email (shared inboxes prohibited)

  • All profile fields must be accurate and up-to-date

 

1.3 Key notes:

  • Bookings close 1 working days before the course

  • Multiple bookings under one email are prohibited

  • Misuse may result in delayed certification or access restrictions

2. Eligibility for Free Training

2.1 Free access is provided to:

  • Croydon Council staff (including approved foster carers)

  • Croydon-based schools

  • Local NHS/public health services

  • Metropolitan Police

  • Local Voluntary, Community and Faith groups

 

2.2 Free mandatory courses include:

  • Level 1 Safeguarding Children

  • Domestic Abuse Awareness

 

2.3 Non-Croydon Organisations/Individuals

  • All non-Croydon based organisations will be charged the full course fee

  • Payment is required at the time of booking to secure placement

  • Proof of employment may be requested for fee waiver eligibility

  • Failure to provide documentation when requested may result in:

    • Cancellation of booking

    • Application of full course charges

2.4 Non-Attendance Consequences for Eligible Practitioners:

  • Croydon-based practitioners eligible for free training who:

    • Fail to attend a session without 5 working days' notice, or

    • Arrive late (>10 minutes)/leave early without approval will:

    1. Have their name logged in CSCP records

    2. Have the full course fee invoiced to their department/organisation

3. Group Bookings

3.1 CSCP does not offer:

  • Group/block booking discounts

  • Large group bookings for non-eligible organisations

 

3.2 Exceptions:

  • Maximum 5 places per organisation may be considered (case-by-case basis)

4. Charges and Payment

4.1 Course fees (subject to change):

Full day

  • Standard £65

  • Specialist (L4+): £95

Half Day

  • £40

eLearning

  • £25 (must complete within 3 months)

4.2 Where applicable - invoices are payable within 30 days.

5. Cancellations, Transfers & Non-Attendance

5.1 Charging Policy - All no-shows:

  • Eligible practitioners: Internal departmental charge (as above see 2.3)

  • Fee-paying delegates: Full fee forfeited (non-refundable)

 

5.2 Fees apply for:

  • No-show without notice

  • Late arrival/early departure (without approval)

 

5.3 Fees are:

  • Non-refundable

  • Non-transferable between learners

 

5.4 One-time transfer permitted for non-attendees (request within 5 working days).

 

5.5 Fair access policies:

  • No substitutions – all learners must book individually

  • CSCP may correct organisation details to ensure eligibility fairness and audit compliance

 

6. Attendance and Participation

6.1 General Requirements

  • Full attendance is mandatory for certification.

  • Delegates who miss any portion of the session (late arrival/early departure) must rebook to complete the course.

 

6.2 Online Sessions

Technical Requirements:

  • Learners must join from a desktop/laptop (mobile devices are not advised due to functionality limitations).

  • Ensure your device meets the platform’s technical requirements (e.g., Zoom/Teams) before the session.

Joining Instructions:

  • Sessions begin at the advertised time. Learners will be admitted by the trainer from the virtual waiting room; learners should wait in the virtual lobby until admitted into the session.

  • It is the learner’s responsibility to:

    • Test their tech (audio/video/internet) in advance.

    • Check emails for joining links 24 hours prior.

    • Log in 5 minutes early to troubleshoot issues.

Participation Rules:

  • Cameras must remain on throughout to encourage engagement.

  • Delegates with cameras off without prior notice may be removed.

  • Microphones should be muted unless speaking.

 

6.3 In-Person Sessions

Arrival & Registration:

  • Learners must arrive 10 minutes before the start time to complete registration.

  • Late arrivals (>10 minutes) may be refused entry.

Location Details:

  • Venue information (e.g., room number, accessibility instructions) will be provided in the booking confirmation and reminders.

  • Bring:

    • Any pre-course materials listed in the joining instructions.

 

6.4 Trainer Discretion

  • Trainers may refuse entry/admission to delegates who:

    • Fail to meet technical requirements (online).

    • Arrive late (in-person) or disrupt the session.

  • Persistent non-compliance may result in booking restrictions.

 

7. Post-Training & Certification Policy

7.1 Eligibility Requirements:

  • Certificates are issued only to individual learners who:

    1. Attend the full session (no late arrivals/early departures)

    2. Complete all course evaluations

    3. Meet participation standards (e.g., camera on for virtual sessions)

 

7.2 Group Attendance Restrictions:

  • Learners joining via group connections (e.g., shared device/log-in) will not receive certification.

  • Each delegate must:

    • Join from a separate device

    • Use their personal learning account

    • Be visible/audible throughout the session

 

7.3 Verification Process:

  • Trainers will monitor attendance logs and participation.

  • Suspected group attendees will be contacted for verification.

 

7.4 Non-Compliance:

  • Violations may result in:

    • Withheld certificates

    • Suspension of booking privileges

 

7.5 Follow-up:

  • Delegates may be contacted within 8 weeks for impact feedback

  • Line managers may also be consulted

 

8. Event Cancellation by CSCP

 

8.1 CSCP will notify delegates promptly if cancelling due to unforeseen circumstances.

8.2 We are not liable for travel/time costs incurred.

 

9. Data Protection

9.1 Data is processed per our Privacy Policy.

9.2 Training records may be shared with employers for quality assurance.

 

10. Policy Breaches

10.1 Consequences may include:

  • Suspended booking privileges

  • Employer referral

  • Financial charges
