CSCP Practice Week 2026: Strengthening Safeguarding Practice Together


29 September to 9 October 2026


The Croydon Safeguarding Children Partnership (CSCP) is delighted to launch Practice Week 2026, a programme of expert-led learning opportunities designed to strengthen safeguarding practice across our partnership.


Bringing together professionals from education, health, social care, police, early help, and the voluntary and community sector, Practice Week offers practical, relevant training focused on some of the most important safeguarding issues affecting children and young people today.


Whether you attend one session or several, Practice Week provides an opportunity to:

  • Enhance your safeguarding knowledge and skills

  • Develop confidence in responding to emerging risks

  • Learn from subject matter experts

  • Strengthen multi-agency working

  • Build professional networks across Croydon

  • Improve outcomes for children and families


What's On?

The programme includes a wide range of learning opportunities, including:

Understanding Young People: Substance Misuse, Risk and the Contexts That Shape Behaviour

29 September 2026, Croydon Town Hall

A full-day multi-agency event exploring contextual safeguarding, exploitation, substance misuse, professional curiosity and early intervention, delivered by Change Factor.


Gaming, Gambling and Digital Harm

5 October 2026, Online

Delivered by YGAM, this session will help practitioners identify and respond to gaming and gambling-related harms affecting children and young people.


Trusted Youth Ally Training

6 October 2026, Online

Build confidence in responding to disclosures, strengthening safeguarding practice and developing trusted relationships with young people.


Supporting Children in Care Workshop

7 October 2026, Online

A specialist workshop focusing on online risks, digital vulnerability and supporting care-experienced young people.


Level 3 Safeguarding Children

8 October 2026, Online

Advanced safeguarding training covering child protection responsibilities, information sharing, professional curiosity and multi-agency decision-making.


Child Neglect

9 October 2026, Online

A practical and essential session focused on recognising neglect, understanding its impact, and responding effectively through early intervention and partnership working.


Save the Dates

Practice Week concludes with a special safeguarding conference that will bring together professionals from across the partnership to explore best practice, share learning and reflect on how we keep the voice of the child at the centre of everything we do. Tickets will be released on 1 September 2026, and demand is expected to be high.
