What Children and Young People Told Us
Ofsted has published its 2025 Children’s Social Care Questionnaires: What Children and Young People Told Us report, capturing the voices of thousands of children and young people who live in, or have experience of, care services across England.
The findings offer a crucial insight into how young people perceive the care and support they receive. Many expressed that trusted relationships, stability, and being listened to remain central to feeling safe and valued. The report also highlights areas where improvement is needed, particularly around consistency of care, access to support, and meaningful involvement in decision-making.
For professionals working across safeguarding, education, and children’s services, this report is an essential read. It reinforces the importance of embedding children’s voices in service design and delivery, ensuring that every decision made genuinely reflects their lived experiences.
